November 20, 2017 - Bevetroppo's note describes this well. A natural wine that is wild and opens up intermittently with floral and dark fruit scents, but then tightens up. Much less user friendly than the Pure T. I wonder if it needs more time. Certainly plenty of material here.

April 24, 2017 - Floral, once decanted, smelling of geraniums in particular. Luscious while retaining a fresh liveliness.

January 26, 2017 - There is a tasting term that I encounter occasionally called "lift," applied as I understand it to the smell of a wine. I actually don't know what it means, though I suppose it might have something to do with acidity if you made me guess, assuming it's used accurately and consistently, which I believe would be a long shot.

Regardless, to me this is a wine with lift, which as far as I'm concerned means truly wild aromatics that effortlessly leap from the glass. 100% malbec, hence "Pure M," it has all the hallmarks of a natural or otherwise minimal intervention wine-don't come here for polish or finesse. Dark red/purple color fully opaque. There are wild heady aromas of dark fruits mingled with feral notes, laced with light spice and something like fragrant hay at the back. Rustically satisfying on the palate, with average depth, a dry finish and tannins that do not overwhelm.

Like I said, don't look here for smooth sailing, but an interesting walk on the wild side. Certified biodynamic on the label. 14%.

Final note-there must be 10 different listings for this winery in the cellartracker database that refer to this property as Chateau Jonc-Blanc. My label is completely devoid of the word chateau, but I'm confident it's the same thing.
