February 4, 2017 - Interesting wine. Pinot Noir apparently. Partially fermented in oak, then re-blended and then second ferm in bottle. Time on lees not specified. Feels much more youthful than 2004, similar in that way to the Ferrari 2009 Riserva from the previous night. Bright fruit notes, plenty of delicate red fruits, raspberry and light strawberry. Very fresh, citrus, just the vaguest hints of pastry, autolysis. Very vinous. Oak fermentation is noticeable, creamy texture, plenty of spice, wood, vanallin, clove. Not sure if more obvious lees aging would benefit the wine.

    Fascinating bottle of wine.
