Community Tasting Notes 20

June 10, 2023 - Well developped now, at age 8 and a half. Fruit driven nose, still a bit one-dimensional. The taste has evolved a bit, barbera-fruit but some complexity as well. A last few tannins hang on. Almost fully developped, wil stay around longer without any problem (but not in my cellar this is my last one).

July 4, 2022 - Another lovely bottle, this (L3616) is in a great place right now. This is a big, extracted style, with 15% ABV, but the wine has a lot of acidity to support it. Dark fruit and sweet fruit aromas and flavors. Not much aromatic complexity but deep, satisfying flavors. Very nice for cocktails or for dinner, very good QPR.

August 3, 2021 - In a fine state right now, with still intense acidity and dense fruit. Tannins somewhat silky. Takes an hour or so to open up and profits from being served slightly chilled.

July 24, 2021 - In a great window! Loved it

June 10, 2020 - Decanted 90 minutes before dinner. Very dark; aromas of sweet dark fruits; sweet, extracted mid-palate, but no obvious oak; very strong acidity; sappy; lip-smacking finale. This is a straightforward wine, not very complex, but it really opened up with air and was slightly better on night two, with the dark fruits more nuanced and with hints of citrus and mint. I liked it a lot, but it was even more popular with my dinner guests!
