March 27, 2024 - This was really good. Leather, minerals and cherries on the nose. Bright red cherries, licorice, spice and tar on the pallet. Fine tannins, great mouthfeel and long finish. Bueatiful wine. 94--95

August 22, 2020 - Iron, saline, dark, savory notes, some roses, cherries, and again, iron, tons of it. This is absolutely throwback, classic Barolo that has grainy tannins, loads of complexity and should go the distance. Drink now with a long decant or tuck away for at the next 10-20 years.

April 10, 2020 - this is a beautiful, powerful super-promising Barolo. The bouquet provides a big rush of irony soil and an almost saline note that even at this young age is enticing and inviting and terribly promising. The wine is rich, complex, earthy, plummy, powerful but so balanced that it is enjoyable in its youth. Appeared a bit shut down on the second night, but this is one heck of a promising young Barolo of impeccable pedigree and great winemaking, as we've come to expect from the brilliant Alex Sanchez. Bravo Alex! Be strong Italy and Spain!!

September 19, 2018 - A small peek into 2013 Barolos (Osteria Langhe): Nose: The nose is pure and highly perfumed, filled with crushed rocks, red cherries, strawberries, rose petals, wild flowers, fresh picked red berries, earth notes, truffles, leather, juniper berries, and hints of cinnamon creep in as it is swirled in the glass. This was in the decanter for the better part of the day and it needed it all as the nose was utterly shut down upon opening.
Taste: Medium bodied with high tannins and high acidity. The structure is immensely youthful with the tannins being taught and the acidity having a lot of punch. Beneath the youthful structure lies a silky feel of crushed rocks, red cherries, strawberries, wild flowers, fresh picked red berries, leather, and cinnamon notes.
Overall: This took almost 12 hours to open up, but it was a thing of pure beauty when it did. Even with all of that air, it still felt somewhat reticent, but with oodles of class and raw materials for one to be extremely happy with the potential here.6 people found this helpful Comment -
