July 3, 2021 - Cellartracker showed I had no inventory, but there was one left? Got to stop doing this after consuming the wine.
Syrah is not our favorite varietal, but Melville and Central Coast really do justice to the cooler climate Syrahs. Inky, heavy, not either a fruit or alcohol bomb, but balanced and heady, not timid. Dark fruit. Cries out for grilled lamb or burgers. Can't go wrong with Melville.
This is drink now status. Don't see aging beyond 2021 end of year.

January 4, 2021 - Red fruit aromas are bolstered by notes of licorice, asphalt, and lavender. Smooth, medium bodied, and very expressive, it develops attractive whiffs of smoke, game, and peppermint. Drinking really nice but not going anywhere anytime soon.

November 9, 2020 - At first sip, it seemed like a heady Pinot Noir (which they also make), but it is a Central Coast Syrah. Struck us as a bowl of cherries with a licorice twist. A mouthful, luscious but not a fruit or alcohol bomb.
We gave it about 3-4 hours of breathing and that did the trick.
Excellent wine. Don't see long-term aging.

July 17, 2020 - My last bottle of this and didnt love the others so left this one a couple of years - and what a difference it has made. This was lovely. More on the Northern Rhone style than the usual Cali fruit bomb syrah (although without the herbal character)
