September 3, 2017 - This cuvée from Weil is numbered 23 as Weil is producing it especially for Hawesko since 23 years, one of the largest German wine sellers (vintage 2016 is named cuvée 24, you'll get the idea). According to Hawesko, it is made by only using grapes from the best Weil vineyard sites.

Gooseberry nose. Palate with gooseberry, grapefruit and slate. Well balanced at 7.9 g/l acidity vs 7.2 g/l RS. Drink to 2019.

Weil is a constantly great and reliable producer (similar to Schloss Johannisberg), which is also depicted in retail prices, which are usually 20-30% higher than closeby vineyards with similar terroirs.
