  July 31, 2015 - Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $40+ (Bin 75): Opaque core with lighter purple rim; spicy, red and dark fruit, ripe, menthol, tarry, plum, chocolate, very dusty, high toned but dense; some cooked fruit on the palate, tannin, higher alcohol, herbs, good density, darker fruit with some red, graphite; mature and in a good spot now; people all over on this but most agreed on variety.

  September 30, 2014 - HdV Syrah, Bedrock OV Zin (My Home): Purple/ruby in color. The nose is very nice with boysenberries, a hint of rosemary and just the slightest bit of raisins. This drinks like a combination of warm and cool vineyards although I am pretty sure it is all from Hyde Vineyard which I thought was in Carneros. On the palate, this back off from the ripeness on the nose. There is great acidity. Lots of red fruit. Still young but starting to show a maturity. Nice finish. Good with or without food.
