July 9, 2020 - This is Burgundian styled pinot (which I typically find in OR v. CA) and shows up with soft amber rose color herb, mineral and menthol combined with the expected cola, cherry and red fruit. The balance of this wine creates a lovely first impression and lasting finish and noticeable oak. Not overwhelming and I think wine will last in very similar form for years.

July 6, 2020 - Bright, intense, and lifted, the nose on Evening Land's 2015 Anden includes sappy berry, rose, and sous bois. On the palate there is incredible concentration and intensity to the red berry and earth flavors that persist long after the last sip. Soft, ripe tannins and vibrant acidity. This takes me to Rousseau Clos des Ruchottes and is excellent.

(Own-rooted vines; 100% whole cluster; 100% new oak élevage)

February 21, 2019 - Light ruby in color. Dramatic aromatic lift with notes of red cherry, freshly cut roses, sage, menthol, and mulch with oak spice accents. Mid-weight with good acidity and very long, bitter finish. Sourced from the oldest vines in Seven Springs Vineyard and representing Evening Land’s smallest production bottling, the yields are very low as the vines are own rooted and slowly succumbing to phylloxera. The grapes are fermented 100% whole cluster then aged 16 months in 100% new French oak Ermitage barrels. This is a lovely wine that is about subtlety rather than sappy fruit. 12.5% ABV. $100.
