March 28, 2023 - Not unlike my last bottle of 14 months ago. Recently picked up a couple more of these and they are still performing very well. Great qpr here. Only when it gets too much air at greater than 4-5 hours, does it turn a little to the tart, redder fruit side. Carol absolutely loves it early on.......and if any guy out there realizes it or not, what makes her happy....makes you even happier!

December 27, 2021 - Been almost 9 months since our last bottle and since so many Cinderella '14s are drinking so well right now, I decided to try this one tonight. Pnp and enjoyed over about 2-3 hours overall. Notes are pretty much the same as the last bottle just a few notches down, though. Same flavor profile, same cassis, cinnamon/barrel spice and wonderful acidity but just a tad less than previous as there is just the slightest of aged/stewed dark plum showing up. Carol says it drinks like a cab and I do agree, it's still that strong an entry in the Merlot universe. I say 93, Carol says 91-92......still good but 1-2 points less than our previous bottles as some secondary flavors foretelling aging are beginning to seep in. This still appears to have plenty of life left for those who want their Cali fruit to calm down more.

5 hours in and this one drinks even more like a Napa cab. A little briar/savory nose now and the fruit softens and recedes a bit. Soft dark cherry in spades, pleasant resolving tannins with minimal astringency following up. I'm upping the score 1 pt more though it def took this bottle longer to get there than others. 94 at the end.

April 14, 2021 - Nose was amazing, paired well with variety of foods. Wish I had a lot more of this, really excellent Merlot.

April 2, 2021 - Pnp.....spicy cinnamon and dark fruited nose....smooth mouth feel and vanilla, boysenberry/mulberry and higher register acidity in the background. Very well put together, it all plays well with the filet in reduction sauce, grilled shrimp and rustic potatoes. 5+ hours later? The nose is a great floral arrangement...violets, lavender, a touch of rose petal? Beautiful cedar from earlier in the evening has receded but excellent acidity has remained along with a juicy cassis ending. To me, this remains one of the absolute best drinking Merlots out there.....this '14 continues to rock!
