July 11, 2012 - I think this is my last of these. At this time the wine smells and tastes much more like a 7 year old Zin than a Pinot. If it was served blind to me, that's what I would have guessed. It was good but more down the zin road. Kept in balance and has good structure. Kind of wished I had 1 more to keep for another 10 years out of curiosity.

February 5, 2012 - Sure, it was probably meant to be consumed much sooner, but I like my wine with a bit of age on it. This still had plenty of fruit. Tons, actually. And it was certainly a fun wine. When I busted this out after the Clos de l'Ecu, several people gasped "Wow" after the first sip. Same grape, very different expression.

April 19, 2011 - Passover Seder - second night at our house. Enjoyed all remaining '05 Loring Pinots in the cellar. Gave one unopened bottle of the Durrell to Rachel to take home.

April 4, 2011 - A little big for my personal taste but still a very well made wine.
