June 17, 2018 - Audouzed 3hrs, one glass poured, remainder refrigerated 24hrs before drinking the next night. With The-Whole-9-Yards-Chicken-Dinner. Wow - first glass was nice, but +24hrsput this wine in a great place. Deep and masculine, chocolate notes, baskets of dark fruits. No shortcomings in the tannin department either, and not even the slightest hint of flab. What a fabulous bottle of wine.

March 22, 2017 - Decanted 1hr. With Chinese food. Potent bouquet on decanting. Still lots of oak influence on both nose & palate, still lots of primary fruit & electrifying acidic spine. Sal, tasting blind, thought Old World & I would have plumped for a youngish Rioja had I not known what it was. Really very good, though, and plenty of legs left.
