March 16, 2024 - Lovely mature Margaux. Dried cherries, cigar box, pencil shavings, dried blackberry, forest floor and tobacco. Very nice, likely at or just beyond peak.

August 2, 2023 - Cedar and fig on the nose. Touch of chocolate. On palate some stewed fruit but not much left. Quite a lot of acidity creating some freshness but mostly feels rather tart. Quite thin.

Tasted at a Brane Cantenac dinner and successfully did its job in contrasting just how much better more modern vintages are than those of the 1980s and 1990s!

August 21, 2021 - Very fragrant with some cassis left but mostly cigar box and pencil shavings. Mineral on the palate with a medium long finish. No dryness. Not going to get better so better drink up soon

December 25, 2018 - cheers - this wine blew away my expectations, has really held up well

September 22, 2018 - More earth and tobacco than fruit is going on here. The wine is medium bodied, with an austerity to its bright, crisp, red fruit character. This is at full maturity, so if you have been holding a bottle in your cellar, drink up. The wine was made from blending 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc.
