March 23, 2024 - Appearance - in a clear bottle and there is wine stain on the glass. I guess a film that developed. Can’t equate it to anything bad but perhaps part of the aberration. Not sure if I ever saw this happen before.

    Wine is opaque minus. Ruby.

Nose - clean, youthful, alcohol eye burn. Notes of ripe berries. Some menthol. Medium nose. Picking up some vanilla.

Palate - youthful, clean, medium plus pop of flavor. Berry fruit and the. A pop on back palate. Red berries, black berries, plums, ripe fruit, acidity is medium plus. Tannins are medium minus but after you swallow they emerge on tongue and cheeks but still on lighter side. The fruit is very juicy. Body is medium plus. Finish is medium plus. Grapey. Has a jammy quality to it. Alcohol feels higher than as listed on label 12.7%.

Agree this is not what you expect from 100% cab franc. I’m not picking up much of the signature notes other than fruit. Nose offers some possibility on palate it feels berry.

I would have a hard time picking this out in a blind tasting. It’s a drinkable wine but not sure it shows as varietal indicative. The film on bottle is unusual.

Someone placed drinking window to 2024. I’m not sure how much better this gets and for the price…

November 9, 2022 - It put a big smile on face to come here and see all the positive reviews that have already been written. Even going back 5 years, it seems that this wine has been a nice drop. And this bottle still seems fresh as a daisy and full of snappy red fruits and spices. Mellow tannins backed up with a refreshing swish of acidity in the mouth. Clean, medium length finish. It threw a good amount of sediment at the end of the bottle.
Only 12.7%abv... how nice is that? Loire, eat your heart out! ;)

July 28, 2022 - Great beach wine! Still primary and youthful...it's all crushed raspberries, Welch's grape juice, and savory beet salad...nicely tart and dry...FUN wine...stained clear bottle and all!

July 16, 2021 - Chilled to a little above refrigerator temp, per Larry. Had a big zip of acid and green that i felt reminded me of swiss chard. Very different wine as it didn't have a lot of predominant "fruit". More like an underripe strawberry. Overall this reminded me of a heavyweight rose.

July 11, 2021 - This continues to be totally gluggable and delicious. Love it, and sad this was my last bottle.
