February 21, 2022 - damn good... lots of cherry, super smooth tannins. best wine I've had in some time and I've been drinking a lot of great wines.

February 17, 2022 - In a very similar place to the other reviews. This was BARELY decanted and still shone through. Can only imagine how good it will be with more time and more air, next time. Compares so favorably with other high-quality Spring Mountain cabs I've had.

November 13, 2021 - This is a brilliant example of an old school Napa cab. When I say old school I'm talking late 1960's early 70's vintages from top flight producers of the era.

On pop n pour the nose was bursting with black and red cherries, tobacco, saddle leather, cedar, roasted green bell pepper and spice notes. A really beautiful nose. The palate maintained all the character found on the nose with the addition of some slight black licorice notes. The structure of this wine is such that it will age very well for a long time. This is a youthful wine with a backbone, including medium plus tannins and lively acidity, but not over powering by any stretch of the imagination.

Again, this wine is a brilliant example of the type of cabs California made decades ago. If you have any in your cellar I recommend sitting on them for a few more years to let the tannins resolve. That said, it's drinking very well right now and would go magnificently with a ribeye steak.
