NOSE: very tight; some oak; doesn’t smell oxidized; still light / tight on Day 2; just not much there.
BODY: some sediment present, but not as much as the other two bottles tonight, and this sediment is much finer, too; plain cork; mahogany color of medium depth; medium-full bodied.
TASTE: good – not oxidized; a bit oaky and faintly alcoholic (somewhat impressive, considering abv is 17.4%); non-descript red fruits; sweet (1% r.s.); strawberry / raspberry; hint of leather; more raisiny/pruney on Day 2; medium-short finish of medium-light intensity; not complex. Drink now.

– late harvest Grenache –
NOSE: sweet Nose; strawberry and raspberry jam; alcohol-lifted aromatics; a bit tawny; hint of peppermint.
BODY: a bit hazy; slightly tawny garnet color of medium to medium-deep depth; medium-full bodied.
TASTE: sweet, but not as sweet as the Nose would have you believe; hint of typical tawny nuttiness, but good red fruits hang around; grilled teriyaki sweetness; a bit raisiny on the finish (35-40 sec.); moderate to great intensity on the finish; 17.4% alc. is well-hidden – doesn’t taste alcoholic; paired well with a epoisses-coated sourdough baguette, topped with sliced figs and truffle honey.
