Community Tasting Notes 3

  • SAND Likes this wine:

    December 11, 2017 - Deep gold colour.
Nose: Mature notes of yellow fruits and oysters. With air come beeswax, almond pastry and marzipan. (89p)
Taste: The arrival is soft, fruity (albeit mature), on the mid palate there is quite a lot of minerals, more mature fruit, some acidity and quite a bit of oiliness (glycerol?). The exit is lighter, a little bit watery, and the aftertaste medium long with some finesse and quite a lot of minerals, almond paste and marzipan. (88p)
This wine is definitely mature and may be past its peak but not at all over the hill. Total score 88 points.
13.12.2017: Performing perfectly also two days after opening.

May 13, 2007 - Chablis with Vitis Bergensis (Hotel Terminus, Bergen, Norway): Earthy aromas of barnyard. Rich on the nose, but more barnyard than seashells. Delicious though. After a bit of air I also get some burned rubber. On the palate it is consentrated, long and spicy. Very tight and still very young. Lots of minerals. Clearly wine of the flight.
