March 31, 2023 - Definitely tart cherries with subtle tannins. Drinking very well. Unique for Nebbiolo. Worth having in cellar to see breadth of character for the varietal.

August 28, 2022 - Prior bottle was 3 years and nine months ago (Nov 2018) and the wine has shown clear improvement in that time, beyond what I had originally expected. Nose shows red berries, red cherries and a touch of black cherry now along with spices and earth. Medium bodied with red cherry and slightly brighter red berries upfront, showing much more roundness and openness than previously. Mid-body shows better depth and expression and well as noticeably better balance. Still has a nice mix of tart red cherry, fine grained tannins, earth and minerals on the backside and through the finish, but far better integrated with the mid-body fruit than before. Really impressed both with how this wine has come together and how much it still feels Etna/volcanic in style, rather than Piedmont. Still has room to continue to to improve and I'll plan to open my next bottle in Fall 2023.

November 13, 2021 - Dark ruby with scarlet hints. Nose of damp cellar, brooding cherry, dense earth, tar, floral notes. Very fresh and spritely on the palate with layers of brambly tar, dark plum, black cherry, and fine soil on the palate, lifted by vibrant acidity and bolstered by firm tannin. Longer finish of plummy echoes and firm grip. Beautiful showing with lots of room to develop.

March 20, 2021 - Nose: cherries, dust, and a hint of cocoa. Palate: tart red cherries and red plums, quite a bit of fruit; finishes with a hint of oxidation. A solid Nebbiolo, but nothing particularly special.

October 19, 2019 - When it was first opened, it's packed with earthy dirt notes. Very elegant and perfect for white truffle. After about three hours of opening the wine, it opened up and the floral and fruit notes came out. Very pronounced red fruit notes, less tannic, has a savory note to it. It's a beautiful 100% nebbiolo and very good quality.
