December 8, 2023 - $50+ Italian Blind Tasting (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Reddish violet with duller rim; sweet dark cherry on the nose, violets, medium plus body, some mahogany, sandalwood, grainy texture, finish is a little bit thin, some herb, fairly lithe tannins, for that and the dark fruit I called this as Brunello, give this some more time to reveal itself.

December 2, 2023 - A little underwhelming. Fruit receding. Dusty tannins. Medium finish. More about acidity than anything else.

October 30, 2022 - (Day 1) Decanted with little sediment. Good color. Seems rather subdued in the nose and on the palate, but perhaps this Barolo is in a restrained adolescent phase…. Who knows? Was hoping for more in-depth flavors with lots of high notes, instead the wine is dominated by wood, dark cherry, and a bit of tar. Has a good acid profile though. Got a fair amount of that red apple finish, which is not my favorite element. I suspect it will peak in five years and continue to evolve for a total of 10 years, but I am not certain the wine will morph into something layered and exceptional going forward.

Purchased at K&L for around $120 and not considered a QPR wine.

(Day 2) About the same as the night before with some wood, dark cherry and now a bit of raspberry maybe a touch of chocolate. Thankfully, no red apple finish..

March 28, 2022 - Drank over two days.
N strong, flowers, cherries, leather, tar, spice
P red cherry, raspberry, tobacco, leather, tar
F AA in length, good mouthfeel, high acidity and tannin still present
Overall a really nice wine that is in a nice place, but could use a few more years to be at peak

March 16, 2020 - excellent bouquet of earthy leather, dried flowers, cherries and tar.
Balanced in structure, and elegance, delivering medium to full weight sweet cherry, raspberry, tobacco and long pleasing alcoholic finish
