  August 18, 2018 - Medium (+) to deep ruby. The nose is clean, intense, with black fruit, red flowers, dried herbs, mocha and a fair bit of oak spice. The palate is dry, with medium to medium (+) acidity, tannins and alcohol (13.5%). The palate is consistent with the nose, with a smooth, rich, mouthfeel. The DaGinestra is surprisingly international in style, probably due to the somewhat prolonged oak aging. It is quite approachable and smooth at six years of age, much more so than would a Taurasi or Taburno. Drink now through 2025.

  July 28, 2018 - Clear deep garnet color. Nicely aromatic, with dried violet, crushed stone, damp earth, savory spices, tar and black cherry fruit. Succulent black cherry and red plum fruit on the palate, densely layered with secondary stone & earth spices and florals. Medium-bodied, densely structured on the mid-palate, with tangy acid and gripping fine tannins. Mouthwatering finish with moderate length. Terrific bottle.
