November 18, 2017 - Bright, crisp, some oak(Hungarian), not huge fruit, acidic finish

  • WineTally Likes this wine:

More refined and restrained than typical, but still unmistakably Californian. Nice drink and good value!

April 21, 2017 - They are at the Southern end of Carneros, next to the Marina. Some flintiness to the palate. Tokai oak, same species as French oak. Tighter grain in Tokai oak, more spice (Eugenol=clove compound).

Malolactic bacteria will eat Diacatyl, unless you add sulfur right after Malo and kill the bacteria. This goes through full Malo, but not that buttery, as they don't sulfur immediately after, so it gets consumed.
