April 24, 2022 - No notes taken. Tasted double blind. This is an incredible wine. Multidimensional, hyper precise from the start to finish with a layered, beautiful ripe but pure fruit expression, stems, earthy and toasty notes. Seductiveness and sophistication. Light as a feather with an perfect tannin structure, lots of verve and tension, still creamy and absolutely weightless. Very long finish. On of the best Pinots I‘ve had and on a level with the greatest Grand Cru Burgundy wines.

April 8, 2022 - Decanted approx. 1 hour, but I think you can easily go a bit longer. Sweet, sugar-coated strawberry and a splash of rhubarb. Elements of spice and dried herbs – all of which on a fine and earthy base. The spicey complexity is mind-blowing and is impressively precise and linear. A silky palate with a more sour-cherry type of fruit. The palate also had a highly enjoyable sweetness to it, felt pure, juicy and fresh. This is still very early days and I wish I had many more of this.

February 12, 2022 - 2021 Martinborough weekend with Kai, Marion and friends (Wairarapa, NZ): Served double blind with the Arlaud. A nice cool climate bouquet of spicy, herby red fruit, warm earth and tarragon. Crunchy red berries and cherries, with green and dried herbs and wet soil on palate. Persistent acidity and a little light weight. I thought it might be a modest red Burgundy – perhaps a 1er – from a non-sol vintage like 2013 or 2011. But it was a decent German Spätburgunder. Ready now.

September 11, 2017 - Tour VDP Große Lage -Start Berlin- Alternative: an Afternoon in Riesling-Heaven (Capital representative office of german telecom, Berlin): What is to write about this sample, the first sip leaves me a little speachless, for me the reference of ALL tasted Spätburgunder of today, that fine, precision of fruit and tannin, obviously still a little restrained, but this profound aftertaste, an energetic journey of several minutes, an extraordinary wine, one remark to the price tag of this producer, this one can be purchased for about 100€, it is up to you to compare this with some prices of red burgundy , the style is very GC chambolle like, *(****), 96+ potential

September 6, 2017 - Tasted after 2015 Centrafenberg GG and 2015 Schlossberg GG. In comparison to the former, this has a little more of everything - more depth, more concentration of fruit, ripeness of tannins and of course length. Again quite spicy and grippy, but finer and more polished. Super finish with impressive persistence. This will be wonderful in a couple of years. 96-97+
