February 25, 2023 - This is a very dark and inky wine for one that I believe has Merlot as the highest percentage. The Petit Sirah adds a very unique dimension to this wine. A full-bodied structure and slow legs back up the depth of the color. Cherry, tea and a hint of butterscotch on the nose. Soft tannins but still a nice dark fruit, cola, leather and some forest floor on the finish. This is a great vintage and a good value if you are willing to go outside the Bordeaux blend box. This will be excellent with our dry aged steaks with morel mushrooms. Beef stew, beef burgundy, or a pasta with bolognese sauce. This can lay down another 10 years I am pretty sure. Salute!

Wouldn’t mistake its provenance but this is decent stuff, good depth and backbone. Finish a bit short, but forgiven. Crushable distinctive Napa cab wearing its slight age well.
