March 1, 2020 - Nose: Deep and vivid red ripe fruits on the pour, a little bit of tamarind and tobacco. The tamarind fades with some time. Leafiness, steeped tea with a tinge of minerality and earth start to show with tree based elements like bare oak, bark, branches, and little bit of spice box. With more time (or just maybe coming to room temperature), the fruits come around full swing, macerated and fruitful.

Palate: Dark red/purple fruits and deep earth surround a core of minerals and oak. A slight spiced oak lingers on the finish along with almost savory river rocks and some dark graphite.

Attributes: Clear, really dark ruby with a touch of purpling. Dry with medium-plus amounts of firm, chewy tannin. Medium-plus body with medium-minus acidity. Great finish of about 23-25 seconds.

Thoughts: Maybe air this out for about half an hour, or however long it takes, to allow it to come to room temperature of about 67°. First sip or two was amazing but changed quick into an almost bright and juicy oakiness. As it came to room temperature though, the flavors came together. Nice smooth and rich texture. Great earth and fruit on the front with nice minerals and tempered oak on the mid and end.

Other notes: No decant, time in glass only. Bordeaux glass. Served initially ~62° then ~67° (try to serve around 66-67° if you can).

January 22, 2020 - Gorgeous depth of flavor, with succulent dark berry fruit coating the palate as it drops into a deep mid-glide and opens up even further and more opulent on the finish. Maintains focus throughout, with just a little lingering heat that tails off quickly on the back end. Yum factor is high here!

Followed over a couple of days (with the red/black cherry note taking over the stage after extended exposure to air). First day was the best. Could probably use another year or two to lose the blip of alcohol on the finish, but otherwise a fantastic bottle of wine.

November 5, 2019 - Pnp and served with dinner. Amazing balance of concentrated ripe blue fruit and refined soft tannins, acidity and minerality. Very smooth mid palate. Absolutely stunning wine that drinks much older than expected for a 2015 vintage.

June 23, 2019 - Decanted 4 hours then double decanted recorked and return to cellar to chill. Served with prime rib-eyes. Nose loaded with cassis, cedar and graphite. Would swear it had some cab franc in it but it’s 100% Cab Sauv. Full rich palate of blackberry, plum and tobacco. Good acid balance and sweet tannins to finish. Great depth. Really went well with food. Fantastic bottle of wine.

April 1, 2019 - Dark purple robe, nose of sweet blackberry and cherries. Mouth is smooth black cherry and blackberry liqueur. Supple tannins, a really really nice wine. 30 minute decant for this review.
