August 20, 2023 - Last tasted on Christmas Eve of 2020, this wine remains deep ruby in color. It likewise continues to offer an array of Montmorency cherries, dry earth, baking spices, lavender and pipe tobacco. Medium-bodied, lifted, seamlessly alcoholic (14.5%) and proportionately oaked, it buttresses the flavors with polished tannins that have benefited from the bottle's slumber. With a dense mid-palate and lengthy finish, this beautiful Brunello is fulfilling its destiny. Tasted over two hours from a bottle that had been Vinturi-decanted, this is one that still deserves at least an hour of air. Drink 2023-2035.
