Community Tasting Notes 6

March 29, 2023 - Traditional style. It’s a 2011, drinking like a 2021 – dense and rich, still showing loads of primary notes, but backed up with the typical Plavac Mali tones of black tea, tobacco, black cardamom and just a hint of aceto balsamico on the finish. You’re gonna roll your eyes back into your head when you taste this wine, but in a good way.

August 13, 2022 - With a couple of hours of air, this showed amazingly well, with smooth dark fruits, lavender and a good dose of tannins. This is a powerful wine and delicious!

November 27, 2019 - Late night at home. Drank with Tim. Pop and poured. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fragrant earth, bit of mushroom truffle, red plums, dark red cherry fruits, dried roasted nuts, brown leaves. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, balanced high alcohol (15%) without much heat, fine suave structured high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of fine earth, mushrooms, dried red plums, concentrated macerated red cherries, concentrated red berries, spices, sweet nuts. Very long finish.
Very good quality. Giving this just 1 point higher coz I really like it. One of the best Plavac Mali I have tried so far. Love the earthiness. Would easily put many a New World Zinfandel or Italian Primitivo to shame. Drink and enjoy.

May 1, 2017 - Had at the restaurant Vinodol in Zagreb, decanted. What a finely crafted wine! Excellent red fruits with lavender and lilac coming out with air. The palate was very elegant but with a ton of tannins, needs time in the cellar. Give it another 5 years and it will be superb!
