April 13, 2024 - Still very young, but surprisingly approachable with the typical Merlot / Cab Franc right bank nose and palate. Paired with a charcuterie board perfectly. Incredible value at $50ish per bottle.

January 26, 2024 - My fifth bottle of Chateau Monbousquet 2016.
60 % Merlot
20 % Cab Franc
10 % Cab Savignon
Superb dry tannins and fine acidity that match the merlot fruit perfectly. Pipe tobacco, ripe plums, sun-warmed wet stones and a long finnish. Complexity and harmony, lucky to have 6 fl left of this vintage. Decanted for 1 - 2h. Drink or hold. -

December 24, 2023 - Dark ruby hue. Aromas of bell pepper, cassis, licorice, and plum. Full-bodied, with full tannins and med-plus acidity. Intense but structured and rounded on palate.

October 23, 2023 - 60% M, 30% CF, 10% CS. Smooth and structured with alot of years and further development ahead of it. Palate of Blackberry, plum, chocolate, cassis. A great QPR at $56.50, I had to buy 6 bottles."
