  January 27, 2024 - A birthday at Bouchon Racine, London (Bouchon Racine, London): We have been drinking this wine for a few years now and our love for it varies ( Papies 92-96) as some days it works better than others.
  Very much a Sauvignon Blanc nose and balaye and with a smoky edge from the toasty oak which in a way dominates the style of the wine at this stage and hopefully this will evolve nicely as time goes buy. An impressive wine for sure and the name helps and thus better serve this with the label visible than blind . Solid 92 and this has an easy 20 years ahead.

  May 23, 2021 - We had this last summer and blew us away ( Papies 96) but on ths occasion was a touch short a touch less impressive. Mineral and full of stone fruits, bright and energetic, very much an old world Sauvignon blanc dominated wine . A touch too oaky on the finish which we did not remember from last time and maybe lacking a bit of length.. Very very good white wine and one that we should be buying now while they are in the experimental phase cause this will be a £200+ wine shortly. 92-93 and lots of life here.

  April 8, 2021 - Bouquet of asparagus and stone. Nice acidity, moderate fruit on palate. Good balance, moderate finish. Flashes of heat on the tongue which detract a bit from wine’s appeal.

  November 16, 2020 - Cheval Blanc plus supps (E & M's in the rocks, Sydney): Very green, nettle, gooseberry, muted oak, a little sulphur, with time a little lime, plenty of chalky minerality. In the mouth there is juicy acidity, chalky tannic grip on the mid palate, it's surprisingly, after the nose, sweetly fruited; greengages, ripe gooseberry, a little alcohol warmth intrudes on the finish. Travels long. The tannin is a bit much for the fruit at the moment, the alcohol warmth is also a bit of a concern for me.

  September 5, 2020 - 2020 Athens Wine Event (Tartare, Athens): Tasted blind . An amazing wine that drew in in from the word go. Verymuch a Sauvignon Blanc ( we went for monocepage, cool climate ) but with a very mineral side on the palate, floral and also with a smoky side. Bright and powerful , very energetic. After a bit we casted our vote that this was a young Haut Brion Blanc. Impressive wine and at a small fraction of the Haut Brion this was a mesmerising experience. 96 and not sure if this is better now young , fresh and energetic or with some maturity. Must buy wine and added to our list along with the top end of the Terlan whites.
