May 18, 2022 - The cork broke on this but I still got it out largely intact. No concerns otherwise, this remains remarkably fresh. Deep ruby red. It's getting hard to pick the precise region and variety here, but this remains a classic aged Aussie wine. Gentle plum, mulberry, spice. Still quite rich and full on the palate. It actually gathers weight and freshness with air. Frankly I love this and this is a perfect example why we cellar wine.

September 9, 2017 - This wine was right up there. The cork was brittle and needed care but hey ... it was not a young bottle :)

May 20, 2012 - (quiet sunday dinner at Mich&Bo) Rich, generous nose of sweet fruit (cassis) and florals, even if a bit dusty and smokey. Sweet and jammy on tasting, with velvety texture yet transparent lightness. More dark fruits, bits of tobacco and dark chocolate, ending with a licorice-esque and even fennel/anise tea-sweetness. May become even peak in the next 2-4 years, but already drinking very agreeably now.

January 8, 2010 - Attractively dense red for the five years of bottle age, the nose of this is quite resplendent and unrestrained fruit- plum, dark fruits, spice and a hint of vanillin. The palate is a joy- lush, firm but yielding, with loads of plush, plumy fruit and good weight and length.

ED: adding this note to the database in 2020 (to preserve my notes) this probably needs a rider that this was one of the first 6 packs I cellared and I only drank Australian wine at the time!

November 21, 2009 - Has really smoothed out, very nice fruit, little heat, good structure and fruit flavor
