April 6, 2023 - truly enjoyable.....a gracious syrah with great texture and finish!

April 1, 2023 - In a great place. I bought a case when it was released and was somewhat disappointed in the early years. I knew the potential was there, but did not find it and was not sure if I would. I am so glad I held on and forgot about the remaining bottles. I was making a marinade for lamb chops and looking for a different bottle and then found this!

This wine is still youthful and seems to have at least 5 years ahead. Only slightly showing its age with a thin red-brown line around the edge. The nose offers rich red (raspberry) and black (blackberry, blueberry) fruit with green stems and some tannic on the nose, olives with herbs de Provence, and smoke. The mouthfeel is smooth with very fine grained tannins, with an immediate and surprisingly fresh and vibrant attack of fruit and smoke, followed by dark chocolate, savory tones and lingering flavors of white pepper. The savory/fruity wine truly accompanied the grilled lamb chops, roasted potatoes with olive oil, parsley and Brussels sprouts.

I decanted the wine for 2 hours and think it will be even better tomorrow. I am going to slowly savor (no pun intended) my remaining half case over the the next years!

March 5, 2023 - Drinking well! Comes across like the collaboration it is: Meaty, floral Northern Rhone Syrah influenced by a more generous fruit driven American-style Syrah. Can continue to age.

July 23, 2021 - This wine is at a very nice place. Still has some tannic grip. Color is not showing any browning that I can detect. Fruit is very characteristic of Syrah with a smoky cured meat aspect. Fruit is open and very approachable. Feels like it could easily go another 5 years or so.

September 26, 2020 - I hope my score isn't too influenced by how delicious this was drunk on three nights over four days. Every time it presented warm and open with Northern Rhône Syrah character. The warm and open reminds me of Côtes du Rhône from the South, an interesting overlay. This is not to say it has characteristics of your lower altitude rolling plains Crozes; no, we're talking more of a hint of delightful CdR from good vines and aged in concrete. This was a fascinating wine. Of the three vintages of Tiercerolles I've sampled this is the best. Excellent.
