February 15, 2024 - Fresh and intense, balanced and well-integrated. The nose invokes black cherries, plums, and old leather. On the palate notes of tar, licorice and a rusty iron accent become evident, all supported by medium tannins and just the right amount of acidity. The finish, fading to tar and iron, is medium to long. It’s delicious. Drink this when you don’t have to share it.

December 10, 2023 - Back on the Sangiovese bandwagon recently and been out hunting for high quality brunello and chianti. Manage to score a sweet deal of 12 blt case at Sgd$80/blt thru Vivino of all places...
Back to the wine, garnet/brownish hue and pretty tight on the nose at the beginning with earth, iron/rust, dark sourcherries. I get much more on the palate with red and dark cherries, savoury earthy notes and a long finish. Very well balanced and elegant. Better on second day with fuller mouthfeel and notes on the palate. Overall a very good Brunello (same level as Il Poggione) but also nothing spectacular.
Would be interested to see how this wine develops with some more age. -
