December 27, 2011 - Colour: Ruby
Nose: Clean, developing, medium plus intensity. Slightly jammy blackcurrant, mocha, vanilla, chocolate, cream, black pepper and a very, slight funkiness
Mouth: Medium minus tongue coating tannin, medium plus acid, medium plus flavour intensity and medium body. Blackcurrant and peppery spice, creamy texture. Vanilla and cassis. Medium alcohol that is slightly intrusive on the long, smooth finish. Reminds me of Jim Barry McRae Wood 2000. Some would argue that this wine is a bit extracted and has seen a bit too much US oak but I think it's just fantastic...
