November 28, 2021 - Return to Piemonte!; 11/25/2021-12/4/2021 (Castello di Sinio, Alba, other various locations): Right out of the bottle it was almost a bit dead. The somm at the restaurant suggested not decanting and not 100% sure that was the right answer. The wine certainly opened up a bit (first sips there was no nose whatsoever, with time the nose was coming around). We had a bit of a concern that it was a bad bottle but I think perhaps just a very shy one. Drinks a bit bigger than some other ones.

January 1, 2021 - A recent purchase retail. Much further advanced than the bottles I have in my cellar which were purchased pretty much upon release. Nicely extracted , but more traditional - darker - not as red fruity as many 2013's.. How these 2013 Barolos evolve may prove to be more than a bit interesting.

October 17, 2020 - An elegant red fruity precise Barolo in the making, but still pretty much on the mouth puckering side. Elegant, and I think that word is at least somewhat accurate, is not a word ever associated as far as I know with old style Barolo.

April 12, 2020 - Phenols really overwhelming at first. After an hour open they had lessened but were still very strong.
