August 26, 2021 - a year on since my last tasting, this is even better than i remember. what a lovely wine this is. ...super light on its feet, but with an impressively silky mouth feel. nose was a little muted initially but with air, it blossoms showing lots of florals, minerality, and spice. fantastic QPR.

July 9, 2021 - Quel vin.

What a wine. The color first of all is a bit disconcerting... a very light garnet red that does not announce anything good. But it is deceptive. The perfume is complex and very particular. The words spices, cinnamon, a chemical that I can't identify, dye, all mixed with obviously red fruit smells like plums. A taste in accordance with these first impressions and smells. If you're not sure, let it sit for a day - it's funny but it seems to me to have improved over three days. A disconcerting wine, one that strikes the imagination that I will remember for a long time - as Jura wines do.1 person found this helpful Comments (1) -

August 30, 2020 - i took my time with this one, consuming it with evening meals over 3 days - vacuvin and storing at cellar temp. from my notes: "this was really lovely. old world pinot-like in texture, the flavour profile is floral and mineral, with a crisp tartness. some leather and smokiness on the nose. buy more!" (...which i subsequently did.)

April 10, 2020 - Light ruby with orange-brown hue, translucent, with slow tears @ 14% abv. Upon opening a rather closed nose of cherry, cranberry, rocks. Dry, Dry, medium(+)-high acidity, medium fine-grained tannin, medium alcohol and medium -medium(+) body. Palate of cherry, cranberry, leather notes, mineral/salty/spice edge. Elegant, firmly structured and amazing mouth feel. Good length with focused tight bright finish.
Simply wonderful and enjoyable juice! 100% Nerello Mascalese, is this Sicily's answer to Langhe's Nebbiolo (albeit less complex)?1 person found this helpful Comment
