March 1, 2024 - Bern’s Steak House, Tampa. Softened considerably after less than an hour in decanter with periodic aggressive swirling. Fruit and oak, little minerality, and a nice finish. Not transcendent or intellectual, but hit the spot with wanting a masculine wine with a hunk of medium rare aged porterhouse.

September 9, 2023 - I’d certainly ‘cellar’ another - this would continue to improve with time! Great 10yr old Shiraz

  • Francois Le Mouel Likes this wine: 94 points

November 24, 2018 - This was a great pleasure to drink. The wine is made from 84-yr old vines on average and it shows on the colour, the complexity and the refinement. This is a big wine, but the tannins are polished and there's a good dose of acidity that doesn't make the wine feel heavy. Aromas of Cherry Blossom (chocolate and candied cherry), eucalyptus and spices. This is lovely and almost perfectly balanced (you can feel/taste the alcohol, but it's no big deal - that's the only reason why I didn't score it higher. Enjoy now or over the next 20 years.

September 19, 2018 - Still required a little more time for aging. Hopefully, it will mature smoothly.

November 29, 2017 - Tasting at Yalumba (Angaston): (eden+barossa) Juicy black fruit, blue fruits, clean, ash, plum, licorice. Spices, chocolate, mocha, blueberries. White floral, peach(?!), sweet loam, blackberries. Sweet wood spice, dark florals, leather, pepper. Structured and quite serious, needs >20 years.
