Community Tasting Notes 7

April 12, 2024 - This wine is INSANE! At 8 yrs, it’s singing and I don’t think time would make it any better; mainly because the richness of the fruit (must’ve been a warm year).
Clear but deep purple hue. Mineral-tinged dark blue fruits on the nose. Super rich entry (and so, my aforementioned comment), with imperceptible acidity but nonetheless, balanced and thoroughly enjoyable. This was my favorite tasting and my favorite wine, during our wonderful weekend in Oregon Pinot Country and this bottle, evidence as to why. Top of my list, whenever we return. I actually don’t remember paying the price we did, but I’d have to say it was worth the tariff.

July 14, 2023 - 1st bottle of this in 5 years. Medium dark garnet. Clean nose that makes me think of tiny firm dark red berries, maybe some wood spice, but somewhat reserved on the PnP. Almost medium on the palate, juicy dark red cherry, ripe juicy strawberry. Very smooth tannins with enough acid to maintain freshness and tension. Will re-visit in an hour, looking forward to consuming the rest of this tonight.

More well-knit after 1-2 hours. Nose is black raspberry, dark cherry liquer and it's inviting. Drinking lovely.

Night 3 update: juicy dark fruit. Showing a little more development with the air it's received.

Highly recommend if you like a more forward Oregon Pinot that is still delicious and in balance. No signs of slowing down at 6 years old.

December 28, 2021 - Strong pinot. Dark color promises better than a typical West Coast pinot. Nose offers more vegetable and less cherry than usual, opens to more flowers, spice, and dark cherry, maybe red licorice and a little cinnamon. Viscous. Tastes of dark berries with earth or mushrooms. A little short on the finish (despite label’s own observation).

January 16, 2021 - Beautiful ruby color, perfectly balanced, dark cherries, a touch of licorice/spice, smooth and elegant finish. Great wine for the price.

December 24, 2020 - Liked this a lot! Deep, dark color but not reflected in any way with clumsy fruit. In fact, one of the most perfectly balanced Pinots I’ve had in quite some time...if not ever. Not showy or overly expressive. Rather, a high quality, easy drinker; with or without food. Definitely not a value play but the quality is worth every dollar.
(Higher scores usually go to the showier wines but I honestly think this one’s more deserving and so, just bumped it up a point.)
