Community Tasting Notes 4

April 29, 2024 - This is drinking beautifully. Cherry cola, strawberries, earth, spices. Tremendous balance on the palate, medium bodied, high acid. Tannins are smooth and polished. The extended finish is delightful. This should continue to get better.

August 10, 2020 - Notes from a day open. Yesterday, this was bretty upon opening. Much better today. On the nose: cocoa powder, plum, soft toast..lovely and elegant. On the palate, good acidity, plum, soft game. This is Chambolle-like today, like a Veroilles from Bruno Clair, with perhaps softer acidity and more alcoholic heat on the finish. Nevertheless, fantastic.

June 1, 2019 - Jim Anderson / PGC dinner - Etzel Block Vertical and Blind Tasting (New England): Highly concentrated. Great structure. Should age well. Still has some sauvage characteristics.

December 10, 2017 - Pop and pour and tasted with food (grilled chicken, in case you were wondering) and then on its own after recorking and refrigerating.
Bright ruby red color. Nose is invitng, giving some red berries, toast and forest floor and hint of violets and lavendar.
Inviting red fruit flavors balanced with bright acidity. Moutwatering acidity in fact.
Good fruit to balance it all. Not tremendous depth at this early stage but this is inviting and delicious.
