November 26, 2021 - Wimps Thankgsiving Lunch - Connor Table; 11/25/2021-11/26/2021 (La Trompette): Again a lovely wine, which suffered I think from being served with dessert, at the end of a thoroughly glorious lunch. Not a producer I'm familiar with but seems in the lovely, restrained "modern California" style. Savoury, not quite crunchy red fruit, and decent acidic balance. Would love to taste again, and I think this will age well.

October 27, 2021 - From my posting on Instagram:

In Vino Veritas (in wine there is truth; [people speak the truth when they are drunk]), another bottle of my cellar sacrifices. A 2014 “Sirius” Petite Sirah from Sean Thackrey that was “stellar” again! If you haven’t had any of the “old-school “wines made by Sean Thackery, I would urge you to at least try one or two. They are “beefy” (technical term😀) and made with nature in mind. Yummy!! 😀🍷🍷🍷👍👍👍 #wine #winelover #winelovers #redblend #redblendwine #napawine #napa #napavalley #petitesirah #petitesyrah #petitsyrah #northcoastwine #mendicinocounty #seanthackrey #pleiades #seanthackreywines #seanthackreywinery

August 24, 2020 - Ruby to dark black core. Ripe red raspberry and plum fully coating the pallet. A unique mint, eucalyptus, garrigue note I couldn't quite place that drove this amazing perfume. 15.7% but I wouldn't even notice unless you told me.

May 26, 2019 - Ah, an addition to the "this is why I drink wines" wine list. Open for business and delivering so much power for the tariff. Girlfriend, with every sip, exclaimed over how much was going on. Highly recommended.

November 8, 2018 - Bought a bottle to sample, as I had not tasted the Sirius in a long time. It’s a blockbuster, but handles its nearly 16% alcohol better than any other wine at that level in my experience. I did not even notice the alcohol until I took a photo of the label two hours after my first glass was finished. Overall it really reminds me of being a dry Port. It has the richness of dark red fruit, and a sense of breadth that I get from Port. It’s quite an intriguing wine. I could not drink it every day, but on a cold, rainy fall evening it pretty much hit the spot.
