February 24, 2018 - I bought this at the LCBO with a 2013 price tag in it: not sure what the story was. Nose is stewed cherries. Flavour is stewed cherry and spice with some anise and leather. Very nice flavours and well balanced. Decent length and still has good tannins. It’s old enough that the spice turns into leather in the glass after about 30 min.

October 24, 2014 - DnP. Surprisingly youngish red, red rim, 5. Lovely complex mature spicy bouquet, ripe red fruits. Harmonious palate, resolved tannins and good acidity, fine finish almost elegant. Drink now.

May 27, 2012 - Nose of cherry liqueur, a hint of flowery notes, some chocolate and a tiny bit of volatile acidity. Medium bodied on the palate, the alcohol is definitely noticeable already in the attack, rather fruity with cherries, other red fruits, slightly cooked fruit flavours (plums?), some chocolate, medium tannin of rather soft quality, rather long aftertaste but with alcohol feeling throughout.

Not balanced, I'm marking it down significantly because of its alcoholic character, which makes it quite unbalanced. I think the extreme year of 2003 is to blame; possibly it was a wine to drink early on release (2006-2007?) and it may have been better then. Don't cellar any further, it won't improve.

April 8, 2011 - smokey with currant hints. Nice wine but not a lot of body with much going on.
