November 8, 2017 - First Private Budget Red Quaffer Re-Buy Contest Marathon; 9/1/2017-2/13/2018 (At Home): Transparent ruby with black shadows, medium viscosity. Nose of intense ripe strawberry with some dried juniper berry, mint and a bit of mushroom. Bright palate of red and dark cherry – extremely fruit dominated, almost a bit confectionary, but that considerably improved by day 3 (then a 91 !). I am assuming it’s a bit too young and should be better perhaps 2-3 years down the road, since the fruity sourness initially stuck out a bit loudly. Even now it’s a 90 though.
