June 21, 2023 - Very Good++. Yes, there is value in Bordeaux, especially in the outer reaches. Not sure what to say, but this is just honest, authentic, no-tricks Bordeaux. I thought Merlot was in front along with Cabernet Sauvignon, but all I know is it's a blend that includes those as well as Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Mid-weight, cedar and forest floor, cherry, maybe some mint and tobacco.

I purchased a few of these six years ago for $13 USD and just now opened the first bottle. Ug. Why? There's no hurry here, it's cruising along, so I feel lucky for not having cracked one open sooner.

    13.5% abv

March 22, 2022 - Wow, really drinking well, sadly it’s the last bottle from Garagiste. If you have any left, lucky you!

November 30, 2019 - Used mainly for cooking some oxtails - but the glass I had was plenty tasty in an easy going package.

April 4, 2019 - Easy drinking relaxed Bordeaux, really nicely balanced with sweet light cherry and plum fruit, soft tannins and good acidity. For the money this is amazing, really good value in a straightforward package. No reason to keep, this is a drink now Bordeaux.

January 15, 2018 - From Garagiste, a classic blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec—in this case from a biodynamic producer (something of a rarity in Bordeaux), the 2015 Château de Monbazan Graves Rouge is plush on the nose and palate. The first impression is one of cherry pie, followed by vanilla, baking spices, and the merest suggestion of violets. It's easy going on the palate, with no hard edges. And while it lacks the earthy, leathery soulfulness that Graves is known for, it has charm. Drink now. 13.5% ABV
