    This is expensive wine

    There's corked… and then there's Alcina.
    Black cork death

March 19, 2013 - Strong black olive on the nose, with a hint of bloody meat. Nice mouthfeel and decent finish. I can't say that there is something off, but I can see why it isn't for everyone. The fruit has subsided, and the earthy, gamey components are front and center. Interesting.

December 5, 2011 - Previous bottle must have been bad because this one was much more interesting. Nice vibrant nose upon opening, with a very smooth mouthfeel throughout the night. Paired well with avacado burgers and various cheeses. Had obvious black olive with truffles flavors coming through after a couple hours. Day 2 was still smooth with some spice and dark red cherries. Glad that all of my bottles weren't a waste.
