December 13, 2016 - This '05 Connell was drinking really well last night. I have not had one in a long while, so did not know what to expect. Plenty of fruit and a lot of spice complexity. If you have an '05 left, I recommend trying it.

October 22, 2016 - This was actually the Bennett Valley syrah and it was near perfect with fruit, acidity and full palate coverage. It probably won't get any better but has considerable life left. this is a fabulous syrah

September 2, 2013 - Just unearthed my long buried Alicinas. Look to be in perfect condition. From reading others' notes, approaching these with hit-or-miss trepidation, black rubber corks and all.
Expecting the worst and the slightly funky nose quickly blew-off, replaced by deep dark fruit notes and a lush totally drinkable syrah. Yay!
Not jammy, reasonably complex, very well integrated. Lots of sediment- decant next time. -

April 26, 2013 - Similar notes as my last bottle. Pretty sure this is spoiled. Stewed veggies, overwhelming funk, and just a bad nose. Too bad.
