Community Tasting Notes 1

April 3, 2006 - I would have thought this was a pinot noir at first, and a pretty fine one, at that. This wine wasn't in decline at all, despite '01 supposing to be a bad vintage. In fact, the second glass was an improvement on the 1st. Burgandy color, with sienna edges. Lots of strawberry fruit. Barely noticable tannins lead to a soft finish. A really gorgeous wine for $15. Some structure, and almost medium bodied mouthfeel. Bravo.
