February 10, 2021 - This wine continues to impress and behaves more like a Brunello. Fruit, spices and sous bois in an integrated whole. Brilliant value.

January 15, 2020 - Very complex with cherries, chestnut, spices mint on the nose. On the palate an austere start is quickly wrapped in rich fruit with hints of tar and tobacco with a long balanced aftertaste. Impressive for a RdM.

October 26, 2019 - Well made, bright red fruit, classic Rosso di Montalcino, great acidity and mild tannins, medium length finish, great food wine.

August 18, 2019 - A nice pairing for a lamb shank at La Strada. This had a nice Brunello nose of red berries, earth and ferrous minerality, all these seasoned with a bit of spice and wild herb. The palate had a nice depth for a Rosso, with barely-there, powdery tannins and decent acidity wrapped around a core of surprisingly round and deep dark cherries and wild berry flavours. High-toned on the attack, but nicely weighted down by a more moreish midpalate, with tones of earth, meat and a bit of stewed tomato umami tracing its way into a cute finish, with a little bite of spice at the back.
