October 16, 2019 - Lots going on here. Citrus, minerality, and -- what is that? Matchstick? More citrus on the palate, grapefruit perhaps, but not so simple as just that. Indeed there is a good deal of depth here, and interest, enough to leave me very impressed. Great QPR.

July 27, 2019 - Clean chalky mineral notes swirl with lemon zest and Granny Smith apples. Aromas very reminiscent of Chablis.

On the pallet, pure and juicy apple and stone fruit flavors mix with linear and focused minerality. Spicy structured mouth helps build mouthfeel without cloying weight or richness.

    Very balanced and refreshing.

July 8, 2019 - Let's talk Godello. And while we're here, why not mention obscure Spanish regions like Valdeorras? Valdeorras is Galicia's most inland region and with a combination of its continental climate, alluvial/calcareous soils and high altitudes, it's perfectly suitable for the production of white wines. Godello (aka Verdelho) gives wines rich in texture, crisp acidity and leafy and spicy aromas. In a sea of red Rioja, Mr. Palacios' Louro was a great find last Sunday at PS Cafe.

Deep lemon in the glass. Smells like homemade apfelstrudel - a classic pastry I used to overdose on while studying in Austria. Yellow apple, brioche, bitter almond. Hints of peach compote and lime zest. Tight layers of complexity and minerality pressed together. Needs a bit more structure, but there’s a swaggering confidence to this wine that few other off-the-radar wines can pull off. Good effort.

June 6, 2019 - Medium golden. We get the references below to pears and anise. Refreshingly distinctive. (At Elderberry House, Oakhurst.)

May 13, 2019 - Nose shows white flower, white peach and crushed rock. Palate is pretty full, lush and fruit forward with yellow peach and nectarine but with an underlying element that is something like anise, almost fruit skin bitter. The lush fruit is contained by the anise note along with a decent acidic backbone. Respectable finish.
