  May 15, 2011 - For $22, this definitely far exceeded expectation. Especially given signs of seepage on the cork. This is full bodied and tannic, albeit partially resolved at 9 years of age. Nose of dark fruits with bottle maturation, menthol, and dusty earth--like a dry mountain. Flavors are lush and complex with a long finish that ends on a tobacco note. Tastes like a ripe, yet structured Bdx blend, so I'm not sure how much the 50% Mencia matters. But this is hearty and will hold up for much more time I think.

  October 31, 2010 - Tart, simple, tannic on the first night but improved after 2-4 days on the counter. Day 3 was good, but day 4 was even better - this wine is too young to drink now. Medium short finish w/ notes of earth, mushrooms and some fruit on the palate.
