  December 20, 2022 - If the nose on the 1947 Coutet is promising, then the palate over-delivers with the most fresh rough cut Seville orange marmalade, macadamia, toffee, cooked shiitake, Marsala, and unsmoked cigar. This isn’t the biggest, but I love its combination of fresh and savory, of young and old, of lush and svelte.

  March 11, 2017 - Past prime, but still enjoyable to drink. Fill to bottom neck. Dark amber color. Brown sugar and citrus peel notes dominate the palate. Reminds me of sherry, although I don't note any oxidation. I prefer my Sauterne young.

This was beautiful in the glass, looking quite fresh, but was a little tough to drink. Orange and mint, very little sweetness, a little watery. This was drinkable with the apple crumb dessert, and showed more life than I expected given the ample seepage, but was mostly interesting as a novelty. Not scored.
