July 3, 2023 - I quite like these stalky Chinon, unapologetic and uncompromising but possibly not something to open with guests.
Last glass was definitely the best as it softened and opened up so probably better in a few years. -

March 26, 2023 - Still too young but coming round. Lovely nose - spice, plum, frangipane - in the mouth, mulberry, cinnamon, plum and still some stiff tannin. Interesting. Probably drinking window 2025-2030.....think this will be really good, but not a typical Chinon in my experience. But what do I know ....

Medium intensity on the nose with red cherry, red plum, blackberry, earth, beetroot, black pepper, charred wood, graphite, leather and forest floor. Developing.
Medium intensity and dry on the palate with tart cherry and vegetal notes. High acidity, medium astringent tannins, medium alcohol / body / finish.
Too old. Didn't have the intensity to hold up to the tannins and acidty. -
Stoic Warrior Does not like this wine:
July 6, 2022 - Green. Tart. Tannic, but not in a good way. Untypical of decent quality Chinon. Unsavory. Unappealing. Unpalatable. Unacceptable.

March 3, 2022 - Medium ruby - still very youthful. Ripe cassis and plum, graphite, earth, hint of blackberry leaf. Developing. Medium+ fine tannins. Softer and more open on day 2. Still very young. Elegant but needs time.
