  January 16, 2024 - No decant. Poured first to my fav tasting glass- Spiegelau white 465ml.
  Initially very quiet, the wine slowly produced enticing purple floral aromas with brooding dark fruits. Initial taste revealed very firm but fine tannin and substantial reserved blackberry fruit against appropriate acidic composition. The wine belies the alcohol it carries, but drink well away from open flame.
  
  Then compared in 2 different Bordeaux glasses, the wine currently prefers a wide bowl & more open neck. It would not do well in a taller, more narrow glass.
  
  I estimate this will benefit from at least 5 more years in cellar, and be quite nice 5 years beyond that.
  
  I prepared well marbled pan fried center cut pork loin chops with a cumin/sage based herb crust. This wine far overmatched the dish, and likely would be better with slowly smoked beef ribs or something similarly rich. Smoked beef brisket may, in fact, be too lean unless choosing the more marbled section. My entree wanted an Umbrian Merlot of modest pedigree.

  April 30, 2022 - After the fact and bottle #4 of the night so nothing detailed but nice body, weight and balance. My last bottle but no rush for those of you with inventory.

  May 10, 2021 - High octane wine - 15% alc. Bright red fruit and jammy with some herbaceous notes on the finish. Needs more time for sure - won’t revisit for at least 2 years.
