December 9, 2020 - We opened this bottle after finishing an unimpressive pinot noir, and we are happy we did! It smoothed the wrinkles from our brows, and cheered us right up. Nice spice, some cherry flavor, and good smoothness on the palate. We are not conversant with Carmenere, but we want to get to know it better.

UPDATE: We tried this wine with a meat loaf and roasted carrots dinner. It does not have the body to stand up to meat loaf; we still like the wine, but I will be more careful with pairing it in future.

April 7, 2020 - Smells of violets, passion fruit, and sweet paprika.
In the mouth, chokecherry, mint, and cumin.
Finishes a little weak with little tannic structure.
I don’t know what is typical for Carménière, but this is a good wine, very good with Italian food, and I’m glad we held it to now because the balance of flavors is very nice.

August 11, 2018 - Served at room temperature with hamburgers. Deep red in the glass, wine is full-bodied with red berry on the nose and hints of cherries & spice on the palate. A very good 'go-to' inexpensive red wine (perhaps a touch below the 2015 vintage) for everyday use.

August 3, 2018 - Not bad, especially given the price, but also not very characteristically Carménère. Went straight from the bottle to the glass this time ... will probably get another bottle and try decanting / aerating it to see if that improves things any.

March 27, 2018 - Not bad for a bargain red.
